Union Canal

There are a number of places to fish along the Union canal, one of the better stretches that the club uses on a regular basis is just above Broxburn. This stretch holds a reasonable head of roach, perch with the odd carp and rudd as well as the usual pike. The stretch is free to fish at the moment but this may change once the millennium link is completed.

Head along the A69 towards Broxburn, go straight along over the roundabout and take the next left. This will take you up towards a bridge which passes under the M8, just after this there is another bridge which passes over the canal. Park in the parking bay on the right just before this bridge.

Fish either side of the bridge or along to the left under the bridge and round the bend in the canal. There is some good sport to be had but the best method is the pole. Feed sparingly as the fish are not keen on a lot of bait going in over the top of them.
