Fish Anatomy

As will be no doubt obvious to you all I am using a PERCH as the example for a fishes anatomy. To any of you who are going on, hopefully to be a trainer or coach you need to know your anatomy. The fish can clearly be divided into three sections.

The Head
This extends from the mouth to the back of the gill cover or the operculum.

The Body
This stretches from the operculum to the caudal fin or tail.

The Fins
The fins are situated as in the above diagram, however there is another fin which only appears on members of the salmon family , that of the adipose fin which is located on the back just before the tail.
